Piano | Guitar | Songwriting | Production
Zeph has always been involved in the music that surrounds him. Taking piano lessons from his father since he was young, he’s been raised in an environment of creativity in music. When he turned 18, he left his part time job at the local drive-in just outside of Raleigh, NC to pursue music full time. In the beginning he was teaching piano and guitar lessons in the homes of his neighborhood, but soon grew to the point where he opened his own studio a few years later.
After working with over 200 students over the years in Raleigh, he made the move to LA in 2021. Zeph continues to teach music lessons and produce pop records out of his studio in Santa Monica.

Three of us take lessons at our house from Zeph. I’m 48 and have longed to play the guitar since I was a girl. Beyond guitar, I also wanted to learn to read music and play other stringed instruments like the Banjo and Bass. My middle schooler is learning acoustic guitar and our 7 year old is learning piano. Zeph’s approach is personalized to the student for how he/she relates to the music and for each individual’s learning style and motivation. Each of us have progressed quickly yet have followed our own paths. Zeph is extremely knowledgeable and talented. He is personable and warm and teaches with a sense of humor. That makes it a pleasure to learn from him. We highly recommend Zeph!

Zeph has been working with our two kids that have completely different personalities that translates to two methods of instruction he has to deliver. He surprises us with his ability to identify our kid’s personalities and adjust his instruction to challenge them to learn and love making music.

Our son started taking piano lessons with Zeph when he was 11, and it was his first ever music lesson. Zeph was patient and encouraging with an inexperienced, young player. More than a year later, our son enjoys playing piano and is proud of his accomplishments. Our older son had taken guitar lessons throughout the years, but it had never ‘clicked.’ Zeph’s combination of structured and unstructured learning has kept him engaged.
